well from the very beginning we wanted
00:18
to create an organization that not only
00:23
serves as a model for the state of
00:24
Kentucky but across the nation and one
00:27
of the foundational pieces of that is to
00:30
examine an organization’s culture and
00:32
with the dialogue and the communication
00:35
that we had with individuals not only
00:38
associated with Warren County Public
00:39
Schools but with consulting groups we
00:43
felt that it was best to begin to look
00:47
at our values here in Warren County
00:49
Schools and then to communicate those
00:51
values to all of our constituents not
00:54
just our students and staff but also our
00:56
entire community
01:01
I think it is important for us to have a
01:04
unified goal and a mission across Warren
01:07
County Public Schools because daily we
01:09
are engaged with one of those precious
01:10
resources which is kids and for us to
01:13
have these actions of excellence and for
01:16
us to exemplify them and our own
01:17
character traits as we come to school
01:19
daily I think will only help them see
01:22
that example in us and then be able to
01:24
use those traits and carry them out
01:26
daily to have a successful learning
01:29
career themselves when teachers are
01:31
positive it’s like reactions there’s
01:35
going to be a positive reaction in the
01:36
students it’s like a chain reaction so
01:38
teachers are happy the kids are happy I
01:40
think the big thing is that we have to
01:42
as professionals and staff members who
01:43
work in schools understand what it is
01:45
that our goals are and how we’re serving
01:47
our community we are a service industry
01:49
whether we like the sound of it or not
01:50
it’s a beautiful thing that we’re here
01:52
to serve others and we’re always here to
01:54
make sure that we strive to welcome our
01:56
parents and family members and community
01:58
members that we are a big piece of this
02:01
this community and they need our efforts
02:04
to to ensure that our kids are learning
02:06
and prosperous and able to meet their
02:08
individual goals because those young
02:10
people will be leading our or our world
02:12
in a very short time
02:17
I want the teachers to make me feel
02:20
welcomed and like greet me in the
02:21
hallways and make me feel like I’m part
02:25
of that school I like it when my teacher
02:27
helps me with my homework I still that
02:31
struggle in my teacher gives me hugs we
02:34
are providing a service daily that the
02:37
students will learn and we are expected
02:39
to teach them to guide them to nurture
02:42
them to be professional so I believe
02:45
that it’s really important that we use
02:48
these actions of excellence so that we
02:51
are providing the students with what
02:52
they need to be successful in the future
02:56
[Music]
02:58
well we want to create a best place to
03:01
work the best place to educate our
03:03
students in the best place for parents
03:06
to send their kids and in order to do
03:08
that you have to look at an
03:09
organization’s culture we know we have
03:12
tremendous people many of them go above
03:15
and beyond who stay to ensure our top 3
03:18
priorities of ensuring safety student
03:21
learning and student opportunities but
03:23
we want to be very systematic with our
03:25
approach in order to do that we have to
03:28
begin by identifying what those core
03:30
values are and then developing those
03:33
actions of excellence
03:39
I think our entire staff is respectful
03:42
and United whether it be your bus driver
03:44
first thing in the morning your office
03:45
staff cafeteria workers school nurse
03:48
teachers we all have our own role but we
03:51
all come together as one to ensure that
03:54
our students are having a great day
03:55
they’re safe and sometimes we even our
03:59
jobs roll over to each others it’s not
04:02
just my jobs this and your job is that
04:04
and if I need to clean up something in
04:07
the hallway that’s what I’m gonna do to
04:08
ensure a child safety they’ll prepare
04:11
everything to look nice and then they
04:13
like clean everything and make
04:15
everything look nice for the parents and
04:16
the kids they get to know you and they
04:25
just like it welcome you every day and
04:28
they communicate with you
04:31
I love friendly teachers when they’re
04:33
joyful and they’re happy and they’re
04:34
excited that’s just like let’s go
04:38
[Music]
04:42
click with horn cane skills we have so
04:44
many schools and so many students and
04:46
therefore so many staff members we
04:48
really work hard to to make sure that
04:49
we’re all unified using the same
04:51
language and common language to make
04:52
sure that we serve our community as well
04:53
well know of anything any more important
04:56
and educating our young people and being
04:57
consistent across the board in our
04:59
efforts to serve them in efficient
05:00
fashion we also serve our community a
05:02
great fashion also I think it goes
05:05
beyond the classroom
05:06
it goes into parents how we address
05:09
parents how we handle situations with
05:12
them how we bring them into our
05:14
classroom and not cut them off at the
05:16
door but open it up and show that
05:19
professionalism in that respect so that
05:20
they feel valued the teacher can tell
05:23
you you can do this and I believe in you
05:27
I feel welcome and I can’t just miles
05:30
there speck you but just looking at you
05:35
when you’re talking just be nice now
05:37
like include everyone and make it happy
05:39
not happy around that’s not is that
05:44
incessant your students are gonna
05:47
reflect off of you so if you’re happy
05:48
they’ll have they’ll be happy
05:53
well at the end of the day we’re judged
05:57
by the product that we deliver and they
06:00
talk about k-12 organizations were
06:03
talking about our students and their
06:06
ability to be successful beyond their
06:08
k12 experience so my vision is to ensure
06:12
that each and every student has the
06:15
necessary skills to be successful no
06:19
matter what they choose to do upon
06:21
graduation we want them to not only be
06:23
prepared for college but a particular
06:25
career are certainly a service in the
06:28
military and we are a key critical
06:33
component of ensuring that our students
06:35
can be successful
