hi my name is Carey King and I’m the
00:04
senior director of operations at the
00:05
Studer group and I’ve been with the
00:07
organization for 13 years
00:08
my son Cooper is nine years old and he
00:11
has just finished third grade this year
00:13
he has had a tremendous impact made on
00:15
him by his teacher his teacher figured
00:18
out from day one what drove him what he
00:21
was passionate about how to help him
00:23
learn and how to help manage his
00:25
behavior in the classroom and through
00:27
all of this it has been an incredible
00:29
transformation to watch him from day one
00:32
of third grade for the last day of third
00:34
grade to become someone who is an avid
00:36
reader who loves to be in the classroom
00:39
and is loving to learn each and every
00:42
day in my day to day job I have the
00:44
privilege of working with many that are
00:46
in the healthcare industry including
00:48
doctors and nurses and helping to
00:50
educate them and help them to find their
00:53
passion and go back to their why that
00:55
they’re in the healthcare industry this
00:58
year I am so grateful to Cooper’s
01:00
teacher because I have seen the passion
01:02
come out in her and through that passion
01:04
for her teaching
01:05
she has driven incredible outcomes
01:08
through my son and she has given him a
01:10
passion and lessons and habits that will
01:13
help him and drive him through the rest
01:15
of his life well I’ve had many
01:17
opportunities over the years to connect
01:19
to purpose and to understand the
01:20
healthcare industry and to personally
01:22
have an experience with it last week I
01:25
had an incredible experience with my
01:26
niece who was a first-time mother 21
01:29
years old and going into labor three
01:32
weeks early she was at the hospital
01:33
alone scared frightened didn’t know what
01:36
to do and was very anxious about what
01:38
was to come as I walked into the room
01:41
after getting the phone call from her it
01:43
warmed my heart to see a nurse sitting
01:45
down beside her holding her hand calming
01:48
her fears not worrying about taking her
01:51
vitals or doing anything in that moment
01:53
but just making sure that my niece felt
01:55
comfortable and she understood that they
01:57
were all there to help her and to take
01:59
care of her throughout the next 72 hours
02:01
there were ups and downs as there always
02:03
are with Labor’s but every single time
02:06
anything went a little bit different
02:08
than it maybe should have every nurse
02:10
that came in took the time to explain to
02:13
our entire family what was going
02:14
on what we could expect if it was
02:17
something we needed to be concerned
02:19
about and through all of this they were
02:21
always calming the fears of my niece we
02:23
now have a healthy baby girl and I could
02:26
not be more grateful to the doctors and
02:27
nurses who took the time to tell us
02:29
their ate it to tell us why they were in
02:31
the room to tell us what was happening
02:33
with the baby and with my niece and most
02:35
importantly to call my nieces fears is
02:37
she experienced childbirth for the first
02:40
time
02:48
you
