Active Listening in Action
When we practice active listening we move from simply hearing the words someone is saying, to understanding the meaning behind their communication. In this video, Tatiana and Mandy provide an example of two colleagues meeting to discuss a design project. As you watch, make note of the active listening cues you notice; asking open-ended questions, asking probing questions, requesting clarification, rephrasing/confirming understanding, and summarizing.
